Step 2: Home Energy Assessment & No-Cost Upgrades (75-100% discounts)
What Happens During the Audit?
A certified Home Works Energy specialist will conduct a no-cost home energy assessment to evaluate your home’s efficiency, insulation, air sealing, and heating and cooling systems. No-Cost Instant Savings! During the visit, Home Works Energy may provide:
– Programmable thermostats (up to 4, with 2 installed free)
– Smart power strips (reduce phantom energy loads)
– Low-flow showerheads and faucet aerators (save water and energy)
– Combustion Safety Test (identifies air leaks to improve home efficiency)
After the Assessment:
Home Works Energy provides a custom report with recommended energy efficiency upgrades. You decide which improvements to move forward with, there’s no obligation.
Step 3: Choose Energy Efficiency Upgrades
Once you receive your energy report, you can move forward with recommended improvements, such as:
Insulation upgrades (attic, basement, and wall insulation)
Air sealing (reduce drafts and improve comfort)
HVAC system upgrades (including heat pumps)
Window and weatherization improvements

100% discount for income-eligible residents and landlords.
Step 4: Access Rebates & 0% Financing
Mass Save Rebates & Discounts – Save 75 to 100% on insulation, air sealing, and eligible HVAC upgrades.
0% Interest HEAT Loan – Finance energy efficiency projects with no interest, up to $25,000, with terms up to 7 years.
Income-Eligible Homeowners & Multi-Family Units – May qualify for 100% discounted home improvements and enhanced heat pump incentives up to $16,000.
Step 5: Schedule Your Home Upgrades
How It Works:
If you decide to proceed, we’ll help coordinate with Home Works Energy to schedule insulation, air sealing, or HVAC upgrades.
Work is typically completed 2 to 3 weeks after your initial audit.
You’ll receive a Certificate of Completion (COC) once the upgrades are finished.
Heat Pump Installations:
If you want to install a heat pump or rooftop solar, Home Works Energy will connect you with certified HVAC installers.
We’ll guide you through available incentives and financing options.
